10 athletes from Ilford AC competed in Sunday's Barking and Dagenham 5 mile road race in the Bank holiday sunshine. Nicola Hopkinson continued her recent good form as she demolished  her personal best by over 40 seconds to finish 4th overall in the women's race. Nicola's time of 35minutes and 4 seconds also earnt her the 1st lady veteran trophy. In the men's section Abdi Berleen led the men home with a strong run of 31 minutes 18 seconds.

Ultra man Mark Cottam pulled out of his 100 mile race held over the Chiltern Hills. With an  early Saturday morning start and an estimated 36 hours of running ahead of him,  Mark suffered a stomach problem at the 59 miles point which forced him to stop.

Club Stalwart Andy Catton competed in Monday's Hatfield Broad Oak 10k where he finished highly in the men's over 50s field clocking 37.50.
